With a history that spans over 6,500 years, the city’s golden age flourished under Roman rule, when it was known as Gerasa. You’ll start by exploring the Jerash Archaeological Museum, which offers fascinating insights into the city’s rich past. From there, visit the South Theatre, a stunning Roman structure that once accommodated 3,000 spectators, and the North Theatre, another magnificent example of Roman architecture. The Nymphaeum, a grand fountain dedicated to the nymphs, showcases the brilliance of Roman engineering, while the Cathedral offers a glimpse into the Byzantine era.
