Your first destination today is an exciting tour of Amman, starting with a pick-up from your hotel. Your journey begins at the Amman Citadel, also known as Jebel Al Qalaa, one of the most iconic and well-known locations in the city. Situated on one of the seven hills that form the capital, the Citadel is home to the Great Hercules Temple, the Ayyubid Watchtower, and the Great Hand Statue, among other structures dating back to ancient times.
Next, you’ll visit the ancient Roman Theatre, a grand structure once used for musical performances and concerts. With a seating capacity of up to 6,000 people, the theatre is still used for performances today, preserving its cultural significance.

Later, you'll journey to Jerash, one of Jordan’s most popular attractions after Petra. Jerash is considered one of the largest and most well-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside of Italy. With a history spanning over 6,500 years, the city flourished under Roman rule and was known as Gerasa. Jerash is now recognized as one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns globally. This impressive fortress stands tall above the lush green hills of Ajloun and can be seen from miles away, reflecting its strategic importance. Built in 1184 by Izz al-Din Usama, one of Saladin’s generals, the castle was designed to protect trade routes and defend northern Jordan from Crusader threats.

Today’s tour begins with a visit to Madaba, a town that beautifully blends rural life with religious significance. Known as the "City of Mosaics," Madaba is a cultural hub for Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Located just a short distance from the capital, it offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore both its rich historical heritage and its religious landmarks.
Your first stop in Madaba will be St. George’s Church, a modest 19th-century Greek Orthodox church that houses one of the most remarkable treasures of early Christianity: the famous Madaba Map. This ancient mosaic is the oldest known map of the Holy Land, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region’s history.
Next, you’ll visit Mount Nebo, the highest point in the ancient Kingdom of Moab. Revered in Abrahamic texts, Mount Nebo is believed to be the site where Moses viewed the Holy Land before his death. "And Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho." Explore the religious significance of this site and enjoy its panoramic views, where the biblical connection to Moses is felt deeply.
Following Mount Nebo, you'll visit the Baptism Site, also known as "Bethany Beyond Jordan." This sacred area, located along the Jordan River and near Tal al-Kharrar, is where John the Baptist is believed to have baptized Jesus. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Baptism Site draws pilgrims from around the world, offering a deeply spiritual connection to biblical times. It’s a place where visitors can reflect on the historical and religious importance of this location, and some even choose to be baptized here, just as Jesus was.
After your spiritual journey through these sacred sites, you’ll head to the Dead Sea for a relaxing overnight stay, where you can unwind and reflect on the rich history and spiritual experiences of the day.
