Your first stop will be St. George’s Church, a modest yet historically significant 19th-century Greek Orthodox church. Known as one of the most popular attractions in Jordan after Petra, Jerash is renowned for its remarkably well-preserved Roman architecture, making it one of the largest and most intact Roman provincial towns outside of Italy. With a history spanning more than 6,500 years, Jerash reached its golden age under Roman rule, when it was known as Gerasa.
During your visit, you’ll explore remarkable sites such as the Jerash Archaeological Museum, South Theatre, North Theatre, Nymphaeum, Cathedral, Colonnaded Street, Oval Plaza, and Hippodrome. Each site offers a glimpse into the grandeur of Roman engineering and urban planning.
